Tom and Elenna are on a journey to free another beast. This time it is Arcta the Mountain Giant who is under the evil spell. He has a cursed blindfold on so he can't see. He is very frustrated by this. He has been causing landslides down the mountain which have been destroying towns and houses and burying people under the rocks.
When Tom undid the blindfold Arcta only had one eye in the middle of his face. Arcta is so pleased to be free that he becomes Tom's friend. He gave Tom an eagle's feather to put in his shield. This will protect Tom if he is falling off a cliff.
